Under-screen Face ID allegedly pushed back to 2026 iPhone 17 Pro

Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants has backtracked on a recent prediction for under-screen Face ID for the 2025 iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.

Writing on X/Twitter last month, Young's original roadmap from April claimed that an under-screen Face ID iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, would replace the existing camera "notch" with only "pinhole" front-facing camera.

However, Young has now walked back that particular prediction. He says he has heard that under-screen Face ID is being pushed back a year to 2026.
